Dave Flanagan is one of Australia's most in-demand comedians and as much an institution in South Australia as The Adelaide Oval. He has been involved in the media and the comedy industry as a writer, actor, stand-up comedian and entrepreneur for most of his working life. Dave has worked as a stand-up comic all over Australia, from Vaucluse in Sydney to the Football Clubs of Gove at the top end of Australia he has also featured in venues like the iconic Sydney Comedy Store and Melbourne’s Last Laugh
His early life was spent in abject poverty as a Uni Student where he discovered the meaning of life which he worked out to be “tell funnier jokes”. After this important breakthrough he left University and headed for the big smoke and the Sydney Clubs where he learnt very quickly that to survive as a Comedian his “meaning of life” was absolutely correct.
In 1984 Dave opened Adelaide's first dedicated Comedy Club "The Comedy Cafe". He not only managed and performed at the venue, but also introduced the best of the contemporary eastern states' comics to to a comedy starved generation of South Australians. Other venues include “Comedy Works” and The Comic Strip.
His current venue "The Comedy Cellar", has operated successfully since 1989. It has been a finalist in The Restaurant and Catering awards “Best Entertainment Venue” for the last 10 years, nominated nationally twice and winner in 2006 and 2008.
With such a wide range of experience in the media which includes radio, television and the comedy field, Dave Flanagan is in a unique position to entertain Australians in all walks of life.
